Hi, I’m Sara. I’m a Certified Holistic Nutrition Coach at Sarandipity Health, Certified Fitness Trainer & Class Instructor, Soccer Coach and Mom. I am also obsessed with health, nutritious food, overcoming obstacles, specialty lattes, red wine, self-development and under-dog sports movies.
With a background that includes DI collegiate soccer and extensive experience in the Hospital and Big Pharma industries, I possesses a deep and unique understanding of health.
How did this health obsession begin? It started in college. My soccer coach Marci Miller Jobson happened to also be playing on the Women’s National Team training for the World Cup. She was incredibly disciplined when it came to her performance, nutrition and fitness and she pushed us to be the exact same way. I’ll never forget our August pre-season practice when we played with my idols; Abby Wambach, Hope Solo & Carli Lloyd. I wanted to be just like them.
After seeing the direct impact of nutrition and sports performance, I decided I could no longer eat the crap that I was accustomed to eating.
After college, my career in the pharmaceutical world included roles in hospital contracts, pharmacies, marketing, R&D, and more. I specialized in CNS which included Depression, Alzheimer's, and Gut Health (IBS), which underscored the crucial link between mental and physical health. I realized that food is medicine as well, and sometimes medicine is masked to cover the root cause of underlying issues. I became obsessed with finding answers for friends and family through natural healing modalities. I also wanted to be a positive role-model for my daughter and focus on Organic and Local Whole foods. Trained at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, I believe in bio-individuality and that health and happiness are unique to each person.
Why Sarandipity Health?
I never imagined I’d be here, but serendipitously, it all happened when I wasn’t looking for it. Following significant life changes and a divorce, I shifted my focus to a holistic approach to health and wellness. I left Big Pharma and wanted to empower others to have confidence and realize that you do not have to go through struggles alone. Sometimes you need that extra push to completely change the trajectory of your life in a positive way, and a coach, just like in sports, can see blind spots that you may not be able to. I absolutely love being part of clients journeys and success stories.
I combine my varied expertise to guide clients towards a lasting mind and body transformation. My approach emphasizes tailored strategies, proper nutrition, consistent physical activity, a positive mindset, and healthy habits and compassion.
My personal experiences, including working in hospital settings, coaching and being a single parent, imbue me with empathy and understanding. I celebrate every small victory with clients and offer unwavering support and motivation through challenges. I believe that the mind is powerful and we can overcome anything with the right support and guidance.
